How much news coverage is OK for children?

The American Psychological Association (APA) provides a straightforward guide with practical suggestions related to children’s viewing of TV news. In my counseling practice, I have seen a steady rise of anxiety in the children with whom I work. It is easy in current times, with such ready access to media, that we find ourselves overly tuned into current events, much of which is stressful. This article gives us ideas on how to shift our attention to play, relaxation, and togetherness—good for us, and definitely beneficial for children in our lives.
